What is International Day of Yoga event?

International Day of Yoga is an event organized by various yoga based organizations in partnership with the Embassy of India in Washington DC to raise awareness of benefits of Yoga on mental health and celebrate Yoga.

When and Where will the event be held?

Saturday, June 16th from 8:30 to 11:00 am
at the US Capitol, West Lawn area, Washington DC

How can I participate in the event?

Event is free but we request you to register HERE for the event

What’s the weather policy?

Although we are hoping for sunshine, there’s something magical about practicing yoga in the rain! Rain or Shine, the event will proceed as planned. Please check the weather forecast for details

Do I need my own yoga mat?

We suggest you bring your own yoga mat or sheet if you plan to participate in the actual yoga asanas. You may also choose to come to listen to various speaker and performances.

When should I arrive?

Event is from 8:30 am to 11:00 am. You can arrive anytime during this period to participate.

What is the parking like?

Parking near Capitol Hill is restricted. Please see parking signs. (For more info click here). You may choose to take the metro. The closest metro station is Capitol South & Union Station (Metro Map)
